Protecting the future of our Planet

WE THE BEACH attracts a special kind of person; outdoorsy, interested in sports, travel and activities amongst some of the worlds most beautiful places.  We care about our environment and realize that our place amongst nature is to take only memories and leave only footprints.  The oceans provide the world with 75% of the world's oxygen, and that number has decreased by 2% over the past number of years. With global temperatures rising, so are our oceans, and with urban sprawl using sand for construction, beaches are decreasing at an alarming rate. Garbage is one of the most dangerous human produced killers of wildlife.  Plastics are ending up in our mammals stomachs as well as birds and turtles, harming plant life and algae.  We need to be aware of the increase in human harm on the environment.  Organizations like 100 Smiles Project is one organization doing their part but you can do yours too.  Give back to coastal communities, but also clean the beaches you enjoy because you may save some wildlife, and by doing so, you are protecting the future of our Planet for future generations to come.
